It all started with a young boy and his love for making sweets.
The soft clouds of mawa. The delicate fold of samosas.
The delicious flavours as varied as one’s imagination. And the royal touch of the silver varakh. The world of sweets was one of unlimited possibilities for Mr. Banwarilal Tewari.

 

And this passion and love for sweet-making took over the
18-year old founder, after he had worked at sweet shops in Lucknow, Varanasi and Kolkata. Armed with his entrepreneurial spirit, he set up the first Tewari Brothers in the 1940s. A modest 90 sq. ft space in Kolkata’s Burrabazar, packed with the flavours of shingaras (samosas) and lassi. And soon its flavours had reached far and wide.

Today, Tewari Brothers now has 13 outlets across 5 cities
in India.
